Media Release: Pressing Matters Wins Tasmanian Vineyard of the Year 2024

Pressing Matters is proud to announce that it has been awarded the Richard Langdon Trophy for Vineyard of the Year 2024 by the Royal Agricultural Society of Tasmania as part of the Royal Hobart Wine Show.

The accolade recognises excellence in vineyard management and practices leading to the production of quality fruit. 

Located in Tea Tree, Coal River Valley, The Pressing Matters vineyard is situated in a pocket of Southern Tasmania known for producing very high quality, slow-maturing, cool-weather grapes. 

“This year, our vineyard team has been balancing care for our established vines to ensure we continue to produce our signature exceptional Riesling and Pinot Noir, while also preparing  blocks to plant new varieties, including Shiraz and Gamay.” said Greg Melick, Founder of Pressing Matters.

 “These new varieties will supplement the increased range of our wines contributed to by the inclusion of the Morningside Vineyard and our recent plantings of Chardonnay.

“This award is a testament to the ongoing hard work and passion of our team, representing the high standards of Tasmanian viticulture.

“Furthermore, the achievement reinforces Pressing Matters’ position as a leader in Tasmania’s wine industry, celebrated for its contribution to the region’s growing global reputation for fine wine.”

Pressing Matters Vineyard is located in Tea Tree, part of the Coal River Valley.
