Our Chardonnay

A small section was planted in 1990 on the Morningside vineyard from two different clones (I10V1 and the old Penfolds). In 2020 we planted another four hectares and from the 2021 vintage commenced semi-commercial production at our winery of four wild-ferment barriques.

This wine’s bright acidity and drive is balanced by hallmark stone fruit character framed by restrained use of oak.

2022 Chardonnay

This small-batch Chardonnay is crafted from only a small block of hand-harvested grapes. The whole bunches are pressed and directly transferred into oak for wild fermentation. 25% of the oak is new, while 75% is seasoned. This gives the wine a round balanced body and distinctive texture.
