2024 Chardonnay
Fully-estate grown, our first vintage entirely from the Pressing Matters property. This small-batch Chardonnay is crafted from only a small block of hand-harvested grapes.
The whole bunches are pressed and directly transferred into oak for wild fermentation. 20% of the oak is new, while 80% is seasoned. This gives the wine a round balanced body and distinctive texture.
The Chardonnay undergoes 40% malolactic fermentation, which adds a soft, creamy finish. It is aged for 7 months on lees in barrel with occasional lees stirring, followed by 2 months of tank settling. This results in a wine with a unique and refined tasting experience.
On the nose, the wine is full of white nectarine, lime pith and hints of grapefruit zest. There are also hints of vanilla, nutmeg and struck match.
On the palate, there's a briny edge reminiscent of green olive and chipped oyster shell. A lively, taut acidity is perfectly balanced by a rich, cashew butter texture on the finish.
